Applying Cologne
When it comes to applying a cologne or fragrance, many men aren't really sure on the correct way of doing it. The first thing to note is that colognes generally work best on points of the body that generate the most body heat. These places include the wrists, back of the neck, the chest, elbow joints and behind the ears. Such locations will help intensify the smell and make the scent last longer.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when you apply cologne next:
- Apply your fragrance sparingly! There is no need to apply your cologne to the point where it is literally dripping off of your skin. This will only make the smell much too intense and will result in the headache of those around you (Definitly not a desired effect!).
- Avoid the application of cologne directly onto clothing. It may very well stain the clothes, and it restricts contact with your skin, so wont last as long.
- Dont use multiple brands of cologne together; the mix of scents may result in an unpleasant odour.
- Avoid applying cologne to wet skin. It will severly reduce the time the scent will last for, and can often make the smell unpleasant.
- Apply the cologne to places on your body that tend to generate heat, such as behind your ears, chest and armpits. However, be sure not to cover your whole body with it!
- Make sure that you consider the shelf life of your product. While most colognes have a life of several years, each brand is different, so you should check with the manufacturer.
- When you are trying to impress a girl, it has often been said that wearing the same cologne as her father can have positive effects.
