Choosing A Cologne
If a cologne smells nice on one person, does that mean it will smell the same on you? Not necessarily. Every person is different, and the chemicals created by each person's bodies changes from person to person. Because of this, each different cologne will react with the chemicals in slightly different ways, producing slightly different smells.
When you are selecting a fragrance, your best bet is to first apply samples to the paper test strips most stores will have. Smell each one and pick out your 4 or 5 favourites. Once you have selected a few, test them out on your wrist, to get a more accurate representation of what they smell like on your specific skin. Try each one, making sure that you like how it smells on you. You should go for a walk in some fresh air, or smell coffee beans in between each sample, so that the fragrances aren't all mixing to give you an inaccurate smell.
